Why I do what I do
Welcome to Wellhouse Dog Training and Canine Correction — where understanding meets expertise in shaping well-behaved, happy dogs. We believe training shouldn’t be a stressful ordeal for you or your dog. Instead, it’s about forging a calm, confident partnership built on clear communication and mutual respect. I’m Luke and I’m the founder of Wellhouse Dog Training, I am an accredited trainer graduated from the Will Atherton Advanced Canine Training and Behaviour Centre. I am dedicated to transforming both behaviour and bond through expert guidance and unwavering patience.
I have been training and walking dogs since I was young. My mum already had a dog when I was born and there has not been a time where there hasn’t been a dog in my life. My interest in turning my passion for dogs into a professional career started with my late dog Alfie.
Alfie was born to one of my mum’s dogs before being sold as a puppy, however after about a year he was returned to us where he then went to live with my grandparents as a farm dog. A few years later my grandad died and I took him on more and he became my beloved companion. Alf went with me everywhere and never had any problems mixing with other dogs, he was loyal and loving but hyperactive, going 100mph wherever he went.
In terms of training, I didn’t teach him tricks or agility - I just taught him to be polite and patient. A simple sit-stay-break and recall was good enough for me and that is my approach to all my training, if you’re happy then I’m happy. There isn’t a trainer on the planet who should be telling you how you want your dog to be, that is your job and mine is to help you facilitate that.
Services I offer
I want every owner to have the same relationship that I had with Alfie, so everything that I do from here on out is for him and in his memory.
Set in the Surrey Hills, is a private facility owned by Wellhouse Dog Training where you can be at ease of interruptions and outside factors, where we can focus on addressing your dog’s new training or problem behaviours. We offer a range of services to help your dog reach its potential.
-
A training walk is structured around me coming to you and we can go on your usual walk with your dog, get to know each other and the problems that you are facing. This structure can be useful to address problems like pulling in an environment that is familiar to you. I can then advise further on whether you would benefit from additional sessions.
Not advised for more severe behavioural issues.£50 - 30 minutes
-
A behavioural consultation is required for more severe behavioural issues such as lead reactivity, aggression, separation anxiety etc. These sessions can either take place in your home or at my facility depending on a case-by-case basis.
£120 - 90 minutes
Follow-up sessions £100 - 60 minutes -
These sessions are to teach your dog general obedience skills from a sit and stay to a place command or heel and recall. There’s definitely no such thing as you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, it just takes more patience and persistence to do. Everything is achievable to make sure you have the best companion for you and your household.

The Wellhouse Way
In a nutshell, using calm consistent leadership to address problem behaviours through the communication of rules and boundaries to create a loving relationship.
Leadership
Dogs love having leadership, a pack leader to follow and not make their own decisions. Without this leadership they feel the need to take it on themselves to lead. This can be where they pick up behaviours such as stress, nervousness and aggression. They benefit from boundaries and expectations from a strong loving leader.
Education
I strive to educate owners with the knowledge of why their dog has picked up negative behaviour traits. This is beneficial to empower the owner that the training and corrections can be maintained and future issues addressed after your training sessions have ended.
Balanced Training Approach
I always strive to achieve everything possible through positive methods, however to be realistic there are some issues that need to be addressed using the entire spectrum of operant conditioning. This leads to getting the best results for you and your dog.
